My wife Karen and I started Still River Outfitters, Inc. in February 2004 with the dream of passing on a lifestyle revolving around outdoor recreation. We love the outdoors and wanted our three small children to grow up with a similiar love. We hoped to guide and outfit paddling trips on local rivers. Karen then had the idea of teaching classes through Parks and Recreation Departments in local towns. That modest beginning of a dozen boats and three towns has grown into over seventy boats and thirteen employees based out of two locations working with over 40 towns in Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. SRO has grown into something we couldn’t even have imagined at the beginning.

We wanted to be known as the best at what we do. We want you quite simply blown away by the attention you receive.

We’ve recruited the best employees you can imagine. I can’t say enough about their enthusiasm, professionalism, and knowledge. We set high standards for our staff and then they go above and beyond. Our staff gain American Canoe Association Instructor, Wilderness Medical, and CPR certs. before they even start working. Then they hone their skills with seminars and classes on rescues, adventure education, and through our “Employees Training Employees” initiative where they each pass along their own unique experience and skills. Our team members are always learning so they can teach you better.

We also have developed relationships with the best manufacturers in the business. Suppliers like Jackson Kayaks and Emotion Kayaks, TSL Snowshoes, MTI Adventurewear, Level 6 and many more. These are suppliers we trust to give our customers the absolute best products available. We only work with companies that have the same high quality standards as we do.

Operating a small business is always a challenge. We’re always growing and adapting to continue our desire to be the best.
