Spring Whitewater
We run 10 half-day whitewater rafting trips a week from mid-April throigh the end of May. These trips run on the White and Black Rivers in Southern Vermont

Whitewater Rafting Escape Packages:
SRO's rafting escapes are radically differen! First we use smaller rafts with smaller crews of 5 people per raft so you are a much more active participant in your adventure. second, no leaky tents or stuffy cabins! All of our lodging is in beautiful condos at Orange Lakes Resort at Ascutney Mountain. You wil find no other outfitter or facility willing to give their customers this much attention. We also have a variety of Class I through III rivers from which to choose based on current conditions and the make-up of your group. You'll always raft on the best conditions available! This is truly a family oriented adventure with children as young as 8 welcome to join us.
All of our rafting programs run out of our Brownsville Vermont facility at Orange Lake Resort at Ascutney Mountain. Price includes two 1/2 day rafting trips, two-nights lodging at the resort and all other resort amentities.

Mommy/Daddy and Me Guided Kayak Trip: This is a great trip and an SRO exclusive! Explore a local pond with your toddler, ages 1 - 5_ safetly nestles bewteen your legs in the kayak's cockpit. One of experienced instructors will act as your guide for this very special experience. Trip includes boat, paddle, PFD for you and your toddler, guide and shuttle if needed.
2-hour trip on a local pond $40.00 per adult/child pair Wednesday's 9:00 - 11:00am

Self-Guided Kayak and Canoe
Paddle at you own pace and schedule with a self-guided trip. With lots of options for rivers to paddle you'll always find great conditions and new places to explore.

Explore the Ascutney Mountain basin with one of our expereicens guides. Trip will run on groomed or ungroomed trails depending on snow conditions, time of year or the goals of your group. Trip includes snowshoes, guide and shuttle if needed.

Mountain Bike Trips (VT Only)
We have miles of Mountain Biking trails right out our door for you to explore. Please note that at this time SRO does not have bikes to rent so please bring your own mountain bike - you won't regret it!
Self-Guided Rides: Just stop in the shop for directions to the trails and/or to purchase a trail map.
Guided Beginner Ride: (2-hours) Explore Vermont forests and fields in a fun and scenic mountain bike ride with breaks to enjoy the views. No experience necessary although a nominal fitness level is expected because “Vermont ain’t flat”
Friday's 10:00am - 12:00pm $35/person (starting June 1, 2009)
Guided Intermediate Ride: (2 1/2 hours) Enjoy a rollicking good ride on mostly single track mountainside trails. Your long climbs will be rewarded by fun downhill cruisers. Basic mountain biking experience recommended.
